I read the first chapter of this book about a year ago and thought it was going to be so cheesy. I didn't pick it back up until yesterday and I'm super glad I did. It was definitely not cheesy at all like I thought it would be. I absolutely loved this book! I couldn't put it down once I started it. The ending killed me. I need more Kai and Cinder! I'll probably start the second book now!

This book wasn't what I expected...it was much better! I absolutely love reading twists on fairytales and this story didn't disappoint for even a second. Loved it through and through and I'm dying to know what happens next.

I really read this book in a day. I couldn't put it down. The story was much better than I thought -- a little [b:Neuromancer|22328|Neuromancer (Sprawl, #1)|William Gibson|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1285017005s/22328.jpg|909457], a little [b:The Moon is a Harsh Mistress|16690|The Moon is a Harsh Mistress|Robert A. Heinlein|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1348768309s/16690.jpg|1048525] with the overlaying of the classic Cinderella fairytale. To be honest, the Cinderella story wasn't needed, or it didn't need to be quite so blatant as the earth vs. moon political intrigue and race and class prejudices could stand on their own. I can't wait to read the second book which I hope will diverge a bit from the Cinderella story into its own tale.
