I absolutely loved this book!!
Cyborg Cinderella!! A plague that's taking over the world!! War threats from a neighboring planet!! CUTE LITTLE DROIDS!!
Set in futuristic Beijing, we follow the story of Cinder, a cyborg mechanic who after as surprise visit from an important stranger unlocks a series of events, secrets and a lot of action.
This is a fast paced book, with a lot of emotional scenes that had me tearing up as I was reading it. I adore the characters, and just want to give Prince Kai a cuddle because the poor guy clearly needs one.
I kinda predicted the plot twist, however the way it was played out was surprising and a lot more complicated that I'd thought, and the ending was fantastic. I cannot wait to get my hands on book two!

Basically just an introduction to the series. It’s really slow to me and frankly, I’d only read the rest of the series for the romance (which doesn’t seem super promising). I may continue but I lowkey wanna take a break…

I was really annoyed with myself for guessing the big reveal a few chapters into the book, but I still wasn’t prepared for how it ended. Really enjoyed this book, and can’t wait to get into the next one in the series!
I bought my first copy of this book in 2012, in the original cover, put it on my shelf and never picked it up again. I think the idea of a cyborg cinderella kinda irritated me, but recently seen the new cover of the book and recognized the title. I decided to attempt to read my copy before I bought the entire series because it had ✨pretty✨covers. I loved it, I love it, I have suggested it to every person I have talked to since I started reading it. I was a lil sad that I guessed the plot twist early, apparently several people did bUT It was okay and didn’t bother me because reading this book was (and someone else said this too) genuinely innocently FUN. Light hearted(with heavy concepts but) but really enjoyable. Like scooby doo on a saturday morning with your big brother fun. No “pick me” girls, or overly complicated romance just a tomboy of sorts being generally confused about the world around her and it made sense and I think we WERE suppose to know the plot twist because Cinder never would have guessed it in a million years.

This is one of my favorite book series. I love the idea of putting a new spin on fairy tales.
I am in shock....The end was unexpected. And you can't just leave us on a cliffhanger Marissa!!! Have to get Scarlet right away!
Cinder is an interesting twist on a traditional story. I loved the character of Cinder...part cyborg who doesn't know anything about her life before age 11. All she knows is life after the horrible accident and cyborg surgery that saved her. The setting is New Beijing after World War IV. A horrible plague and an evil queen add to the plot and make for a weird, but enjoyable read.
