Really good book! I would defiantly recommend to any one! 4.5!

I really enjoyed this book! I didn't know what to this of this when I started it but after a few pages it got so good already that I couldn't put it down. I love how Marissa Meyer took parts of the original Cinderella and turned it into this. I really liked (most of) the characters but Queen Levana was just so hateable and I just want to kill that woman. And Adri, ugh I hate her. I wish there would have been more going on between Cinder and Kai though (but that's probably just me). I did have to get used to reading in third person but after a while I didn't even notice it anymore.
This book was just really good overal even though the ending was just D: . I'm really looking forward to reading Scarlett and I'll probably pick it up sometime soon! Because this book, just, oh my stars.

Cinder is a cyborg. The setting is Asian. There are conflicts that have lasted decades between two peoples Lunar and Earthen. To settle the impending war, the Lunar Empress requires marriage to the Emperor of the Eastern Commonwealth (once current-day Beijing). Though the strange mesh of ideas clashes together, it was an enjoyable read. I liked the retelling of a classic cinderella with such brazen twists like this. It was a fresh take on the topic of part human - part robot discussion. Though I did want to know more about her being "inhumane" as she felt really human-like to me as I read. I was not off-put by the lack of her tears or blushing as much as the wrenching of her wires in her legs as she replaced her foot. I wish we got to see more of that robotic tendency or lack of emotions like love that everyone was fast to hate/despise/ and belittle. People were quick on degrading cyborgs(once human before an accident) from the status of human to someone worth throwing away as a test subject. So I'm curious why it really got so bad in such prejudices. I'll be reading more of the series but this was a good stepping point into a new world open to many new ideas and interesting twists on the classics.

Though the twist was frustratingly obvious and the setting a little too unexplored, the story got me hooked and I enjoyed it quite a bit.

I was intrigued by the idea behind it but it was very cheesy and predictable.
