Another great addition to the series! Brighton was not my favorite heroine. There was a bit more frustration in this book (because of her) but the story overall was really fun. She was different from the previous girls (loved that they were still in this!) because she was cautious and second-guessed the obvious things in front of her. Overall, so good though. Jake <333

Totally loved this book. It was like reading a rom-com. Which I cast in my head. And that ended up funny when I pictured Liam Hemsworth as Jake before they started referring to him as "the lost Hemsworth brother". Loved it, loved the cast of characters. My only pet peeve was the misspelling of "Pippin" at the end.

PS I was hesitant to read this because dog on cover usually equals sad dog story. Not so here.

I just love the Black Dog Bay series. The setting is a great background (without the clever names of businesses being too cloying) and watching the primary character, Brighton, change and grow through this book was enjoyable. The main male character, Jake, seemed a little too closed off at times and it wasn't always possible to get a read on how he felt. However, I rooted for their relationship and kept wanting to find out what they'd do next. I hope for a return visit to Black Dog Bay soon! Advance reading copy provided by Edelweiss and the publisher though I did not read until well after publication.

Suspend reality and this is a cute, fun read. Put this one in the real world and it doesn't quite work, plot-wise. I like the Black Dog Bay books for a break from heavy reads but after reading the first three in the series in two weeks, I think I need to wait a minute before progressing to book four. I sure hope a subsequent book features the owner of the Whinery - she seems like an underutilized gem of a character.

Disappointed in this outing by Beth Kendrick. I normally love her books but this one just felt meh and fell flat for me.

Plus, her constant use of the word 'murmur' made me feel like I was reading Shades of Grey all over again. Good lord, did I just admit to reading those abominations out loud?

Ugh.

At any rate, the word murmur now officially needs to be put out of its misery and authors need to hit a thesaurus from time to time...

Jake is sooo swoony and I love Rory. The story was crazy and although I knew how it would end up I love the journey to get there. Jake and Brighton were great together. Did I mention how awesome Jake is?
