He's a Python. One of the greatest comedians of his generation, and one of my favorites of all time. The fact that he remains so funny despite a rough, fatherless, childhood, is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit.

It was like spending Thanksgiving vacation with your Grandpa who is lying about all the stuff he did. WHO IS INTIMATELY FAMILIAR WITH THAT MANY CELEBRITIES?!? This can't be true!

Namedropper extraordinaire - Bowie, Jagger, Paul Simon, Carrie Fisher - and very funny man who climbed from Orphy to Olympic Closing Ceremony. Warm narrator who tells the Python story with bathos and charm.

Actually 3.5 stars. The namedropping is a bit weird at first. But the more you read the more you understand this is who Eric Idle is. The book actually gets better and better, which was unexpected since the main 'monty python stuff' ofcourse happened in the first half of his life.
Charming, witty, plenty of name-dropping, not enough dead parrots. In short, everything we'd want from a Python "Sortabiography".
