Alternative title could be “Pervy Eric Idle talks about his famous friends”. Very entertaining, and he’s led a hell of a life, why shouldn’t he want to talk about it?

Quick and dirty autobiography by the musically inclined Python. It was marginally interesting, but ultimately forgettable.

I listened to this, and Idle is the narrator. There are some very interesting bits, and some very funny bits, but it also meanders horribly. There were several times where Idle would be in the middle of a story, get side-tracked into another story, and then side-tracked again, and after several minutes, he would get back to the original story- and it had been SOOOOO long that I had pretty much forgotten the original jumping-off point. He takes it for granted that you will recognize his little inside jokes and name-dropping.

DID NOT FINISH

*DNF - not because I didn't like it per se, but just not in the mood atm. Might attempt a re-listen at another time.

A funny, name-dropping romp. Mostly autobiography, partial biography of the song.

What I want to remember

- It's funny the small circles a lot of these superstars seem to run in.

- I teared up hearing about George Harrison's attack. I had heard of the thing, but not in detail, and not from somebody close to George and Olivia.

Pretty fun read about the Pythons. Also very self indulgent, and needed an editor to cut out the constant name dropping.

Not the strongest Python memoir - a bit surface-level, a bit thin. Sometimes felt like a book-length acknowledgments and name-dropping exercise. A fair number of humorous anecdotes and asides/quips, but also a bit repetitive. Some nice memories of lost greats (Robin Williams, Bowie). I found the mentions of Terry Jones very moving - Idle managed to say a lot without writing much, if that makes sense. Worth it for die-hard Python fans.
