An incredibly entertaining book that covers so much and so many events it's hard to believe it's all about the same person. A second read would be invaluable considering all the names involved and for another round of laughs.

I probably wouldn't have read this if it wasn't in audiobook form, I'll be real.
It was good company while I worked. Eric Idle is a good narrator, and the stories flowed easily. It did feel a lot like name-dropping and casually avoiding sore subjects at times, and it came with an amount of old-fashioned sexism in the form of casually and in "good humor" objectifying women that I definitely didn't enjoy, but it had plenty of sincere moments, and it was very fun listening to Eric Idle laughing at his own stories from time to time, as if he was telling them at a party and not reading his book. It felt like a long interview, and honestly, while I don't think it was a literary masterpiece or anything, it kept me entertained for a good eight hours, which is pretty much what I was after.

I loved this book. Period. Say no more.

I listened to the audiobook and believe that made it SO much better. It was like being on a road trip with the most unexpected and interesting of hitchhikers. Just the right pick me up for the random Tuesday. Treat yourself and check out this irreverent, silly brit.

Listen to the audio book. All books by Pythons are best when read to you by Pythons.

All of the stars for my favourite Python.
Eric Idle has had a wonderful life - long may it continue! - and writes wonderfully about it.

This made me laugh out loud the entire time. I highly recommend the audiobook.

He tells tales of hanging out with Mick Jager and George Harrison (Who did not get along so Idle had to choose which rock superstar to accept lavish gifts and fancy vacations with.)

His touching tributes to Graham Chapman and Robin Williams were some of the highlights but overall it just made me happy to listen to him talk about his mad life.

I cannot recommend listening to the audio version of this book highly enough! Though I'm sure I'd have enjoyed merely reading it, hearing Eric narrate his life stories with his trademark enthusiasm, laughter, funny voices and singing (!) made it a thousand times more enjoyable and entertaining. I absolutely loved all the stories and Eric's voice made it sound like almost a Python "documentary" or tongue-in-cheek news story. His timing is as good as ever and even the massive amounts of name dropping throughout were easy to tolerate. There was some sadness listening to him deal with the deaths of Graham, George and Robin, but the vast majority of the book was hilarious and interesting. Many times, I found myself laughing out loud and trying to contain it so that I could continue to hear the stories. I laughed loudest and longest throughout Eric's story about Robin Williams calling computer support in the latter part of the book. Overall, I found this book to be utterly delightful and I recommend it to any and every Monty Python fan.

Do I like hearing lots of silly stories about famous people? I do.

A must for fans of Eric Idle.
