The spicy scenes with them as teenagers was just a bit odd and felt uncomfortable, especially when Macy was 3/4 months away from turning 18. Like how hard would it be to just wait a little bit in the storyline? Ruined the book for me personally, also just not a fan of main characters being separated for a long time- especially 11 years :(

I just didn't like it, but I'm glad I read it nonetheless.  The following is spoilers galore:
The reveal with her dad could be seen coming from a mile away, and I felt like it was such a contrived cop out to the story. I also wish we saw more of the time in-between their reunion, with like more information on how she chose medicine and her life as a doctor. I also wanted to know about him because if anything, his path seemed most likely to be medical. I also felt like Elliot was better only in comparison to Sean, but I failed to see his own appeal independently. I feel like to an extent, the characters despite being a "character driven" book, felt like half-realized carboard cut outs that tend to wax poetic. Although, all this said doesn't mean I dislike it, it was still written really well and certain passages stuck out and will stay with me for a long time. On the final note, I didn't like how quickly we glossed over Elliot literally being a victim and the associated trauma with that. It definitely needed to be addressed.

I think I low-key lived for this book during the five days it took me to read it. I woke up, I was excited to read a chapter or two during breakfast. During the day, I waited for the moment that I could get in bed or the sofa to read a little more. I read until I went to sleep (sometimes a little later than I should). I think the past/present pov helped making it so engaging. The story is so beautiful, too, and all the characters are so loveable I want to hug them all. The only reason I didn't give this 5 full stars is because something in the end happened and it felt really out of character for one of the characters.
