I enjoyed this book, but did not like it as much as the other Palahniuk that I read. First, I know the purpose is not to like the main character as first since he is a top-notch citizen. But, that made it a little bit harder for me to get into the book. Also, it was a little bit slower in parts for me, but overall it was a good book and I would recommend it, especially since there will be a movie soon. And the last chapter is very good and has a very good message.

Typical Palahniuk, which is to say that some people will worship it and others will despise it. I thought it was quite entertaining.

Classic recommendation from my mother— left me feeling aghast and unsure how to react. I have to say I developed a fondness for Victor Mancini, devout asshole as he may be. Toward the end even he got me with the choking. What a book, man.

2/10 Stars. Terrible book. No real sequential order, mostly nonsensical. The characters were awful, the plot non-existent. Seriously don't read.

This is one weird book. Like passing an accident,  I couldn't look away. Sex addiction,  dementia,  mental illness,  and two characters that work at a living history museum create a story that includes looking back at childhood memories.

This feels like it could be a sequel to Fight Club. A sequel in the sense of how The Divine Invasion is a sequel to Valis.

Interesting and easy to read, but not nearly as poignant as the author seems to think it is.
