Quirky and interesting and a bit off. Just as I imagined her.

I listened to the audiobook and thought it was worth my while.

It was a struggle to finish and the chapters about Woody Allen and Louis CK, ugh. I love her as an actress but this book was really disappointing.

I don't know how readable this memoir would be as a book I held in my hands, but as an audiobook read by the author it's enjoyable. I don't know that I'd want to be Posey's friend, but I found her stories interesting enough and it made me want to rewatch some of her films, especially her Christopher Guest stuff, which I still think is her best work. As someone who doesn't like Woody Allen, the hero worship of him was A LOT. Just left with an overwhelming feeling of "eh, it was fine" about the book.

I love Parker Posey, but the narrative structure of this memoir did not work for me. I am glad I tried this as an audiobook, though, as I think it was written with that format in mind.
