I can't comprehend why this is rated so low, what. a. book.

With the current UK climate and the propaganda and fear mongering regarding immigrants (illegal or non-illegal), this is SO important. The humanisation of those fleeing war torn countries and dangerous situations for them and their families is very much needed.

The only reason it wasn't 5 stars for me is because I feel like Tuli's story was too vague and I wanted a little more from it.
