There was a lot going on in this one! I've read all but the immediately previous title in this series, and I enjoyed returning to the Chicago Stars universe. I don't think I've ever read a book (aside from Phantom of the Opera) with an opera singer for one of the main characters, so that was an interesting aspect of this story. I also admit to being completely shocked by some of the reveals at the end because even though at least one of them was close to what I was guessing, it wasn't exactly on the nose. Even though there were a couple of times I wanted to smack these two characters heads together, I really enjoyed this entry in the Chicago Stars series. Recommend for fans of the series and of romantic comedy of the "opposites attract" variety.

I absolutely loved the mystery/suspence input and the main characters were so loveable.
Excellent addition to the Chicago Stars series. I especially enjoyed how much the characters relied on open communication in order to form their bond and lives together. It was a refreshing take on friends to lovers romance. Perfect for long term fans and newbies alike.
S.E. Phillips has always been a reliable choice for a light, frothy read with a good dose of humor -- perfect choices to take to the beach or enjoy anywhere when you need an emotional pick-me-up. This one will never be my favorite but it DID inspire me to take another look at opera. It's a classic "opposites attract" tale, featuring a famous football quarterback and an opera star thrown together in an advertising campaign for expensive watches. The two divas have nothing at all in common -- except that they are hugely successful "beautiful people," wealthy, accomplished and famous. Apparently those are rare enough characteristics that they are able to understand and -- eventually -- trust each other in love. Those of us who have none of those characteristics are free to write this off as envy porn, but Phillips retains her sure hand with witty dialogue and comic situations. Her effort to throw in some suspense felt marginally successful. Her descriptions of the beauty of opera, however, will stay with me for a long time. I'm off to find a recording of Carmen. . .
after reading this book, the title for it was so perfect. i didn't even get it until i was on the last chapter lmaooo. get it, bc they're both stars. lol okay. this was a great read! despite the fact that i initially hated it and thought i was going to be bored...
the first conflict between the mcs was resolved in the first 2 chapters! thank god! because it was a pesky miscommunication/hating-someone-for-something-you-heard-about-them type of conflict. anyway, after that was out of the way, the rest of the story was intriguing, and i would honestly count this as romantic suspense more than chick-lit. i mean this girl was getting sabotaged at every turn. ALSO, this book inspired me to maybe go see an opera sometime in the future. so there's that.

Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I was very disappointed with this novel. This author is known for quirky heroines that bring the sass and spirit into their careers but the author missed the mark on this one. From the beginning there was zero chemistry between the heroine and hero. He called her Diva and she hated him on sight for crime he didn't commit. Superficial characters and a boring storyline. A disappointment.
