First book I’ve read by her and it was entertaining. I thought I knew what was going on and then it went a totally different way.

The fmc was soooo annoying though. There were 28 red flags flashing right in front of her eyes and she just ignored them???

Definitely didn’t see that coming. The twist is absolutely diabolical. All the male characters are creepy as shit — it really could’ve been anyone. This book kept me enthralled. I finished it in 24 hours. Plot is pretty realistic as well which I appreciate in a thriller.

This is one of the best Freida McFadden books I’ve read so far. The story centers on Sydney, a single woman in New York navigating the complexities of contemporary dating. Her series of unfortunate dates appears to improve when she encounters the intriguing and skilled doctor, Tom. However, a wave of murders aimed at local women casts a shadow over their ability to trust each other, leading Sydney to question whether her charming prince might have a darker side. Meanwhile, flashbacks revealing Tom’s history unveil a terrifying past that unexpectedly ties into the current events.

“It just shows, you never know. These guys who are really charming and smart and good looking can fool everyone.”

I have a huge obsession for thriller books, but they tend to have a different impact when it is a serial killer thriller book. I found the plot to be amazing, and I really enjoyed the two timelines come together at the end. While the first few chapters may be a bit slow, the intensity of everything will keep you reading. The story will keep you on your toes, and Freida will evetually prove that you were wrong about the plot twist just when you think you’ve figured it out. However, I have a strong dislike for all the characters in this book. Freida appears to have a real liking for creating main characters that are dumb and stupid, just like Sydney. How is it possible to have so much trust in someone without even having a good understanding of them? Also, there are numerous warning signs and red flags, but she is too oblivious to even notice them.

For me, this is genuinely more disturbing than Freida’s other novels. Overall, I gave it a rating of 4.75 stars. I appreciated the suspense, mystery, and the intensity that the story provided. I would strongly recommend this to anyone seeking a thrilling book that will twist the mind and leave you astonished.

I flew through this thriller! I was right about some of the theories, just with the wrong person, so I liked that. I did find it annoying that Sydney didn't put some of the "clues" together --which was frustrating as a reader for me personally. That said, it was an enjoyable thriller and I appreciated the ending.
