A mildly fun read; quite a clunky writing style (very stilted dialogue, very generic ‘inner dialogue’, and super basic characters). Nice for a beach or cabin or bathtub read. Decent twist but feels derivative of Gone Girl.  I appreciate the gore and the buildup to the climax but after a while I found the poor writing tough to push through, so I found myself skimming the last few chapters in spite of the climax and denouement.

Okaaayyyyy Freida. You got me. I admit it. I totally thought I had everything figured out from the beginning, and while I had some details correct, I didn’t guess the big twist. This was a fast-paced, addicting read that I got through in a few sittings. This was my favorite Freida book so far, and I actually quite liked how everything was tied up in the end

I can’t give this 5⭐️ because this is yet another Freida read where the fmc could be physically beaten with red flags and she still wouldn’t realize. Can we stop doing this Freida??? Please!!

Why, I find myself asking, is every main character I read from this author so obnoxious?

Sydney, girl, GET A GRIP. Or maybe just a clue. There were so many things that she wrote off as "coincidences" that were NOT coincidental.

Also, this is the second time a Frieda twist hasn't surprised me. I'm not sure why everyone was so shocked by this one, because I had it nailed down.

The thing I didn't get correct was about Slug, but for the sake of spoilers I won't say what I thought or what was true.

Omg, the ending of this was.... a lot and very very rushed. The epilogue served to show that Sydney remains a moron.

Let's make our main characters not stupid, please 🙏🏻... That is all.

Not as many twists as normal, but there was a really big one, that was once again unpredictable!
Wow, Freida, nice touch with the ant farm. I thought I finally had put all of the breadcrumbs from the trail together, but I was wrong.

Dexter season 7 (if you know, you know) meets tinder after dark

Are you a serial dater in this modern social media dating apps? Welp, Sydney (protagonist) will tell you to just go back to your ex.

This book takes you on the journey from two points of views: Sydney, the protagonist who just wants to find love and have a kid before 90. Same girl, same. And Tom the antagonist (well debatable) with daddy issues and a fascination with carotid arteries. Daddy issues do be messing up people huh.

These two characters go on a journey to find love. Whether it’s finding love with a person who is kind, smart & protective or finding a person who loves you just the way you are even when you love watching blood flow out of a body.
