RECAP: In addition to the dual POVs, we also have dual timelines. There was one twist that I didn't see coming, so that was fun! However, Sydney was one of the most frustrating, self-absorbed protagonists I’ve read—naive, shallow, and completely lacking growth. Her story revolves around dating struggles, jealousy, bad choices, and ends with no real development. She felt more like a cardboard cutout than a character.

I ate this book up in two days. Was it the best thing I've ever read? No. But it kept me interested in wanting to know how it ended. I don't regret reading this at all. Kind of wish there was a sequel. I need to know more please. 😭

The main character is a shallow bozo but the twists were solid. One thing I consistently like about Frieda McFadden is that she doesn’t moralize over right and wrong. She has no problem killing off problematic characters and that remains fun to read.
