Loved it! A great introduction to existentialism combined with a bit of biography of many of the main players, including one or two I hadn't previously known about. The format makes it easier to read than going directly to the philosopher's texts, but it also inspires you to do so after reading.
Wonderful overview of the history, the people, and the big ideas of existential philosophy. I already knew I had an affinity for existentialism, but now I'm driven to go even deeper into the original texts.

Super good book! I found her writing really fun, especially some of the historical/biographical sections. Her descriptions of the philosophies are certainly comprehensive enough. It made me want to read these men and women and that’s awesome.
Also, after years of feeling so stupid when anyone mentions phenomenology I FINALLY get it I think. Like a little bit, not comprehensively of course. But I have the concept and that makes me feel so good.

This is one of the most insightful, quirky, fulfilling, and empowering books I’ve read in a long time. Would recommend to anyone who has at one point had the epiphany that they do, in fact, exist.
