Really informative and a pleasure to read. Made me want to read everything ever written by Sartre and de Beauvoir. Hate Heidegger! Gave me a new appreciation for Camus, who I was previously less impressed by. The MVP though was Merleau-Ponty.

Almost a year and a half in the making…finally got all the way through this work of genius. Feel like I just went through all of time. Incredible!!!

learned soooooo much about these dastardly rotten frenchmen

Overall an interesting exploration of the people behind the existentialist movement, providing a decent introduction into the genesis of and variations in their ideas. Covered a lot on their relationships and the developments on their ideas, but maybe could have used a little more on their lives outside of their circle or a little more grounding in the everyday.
