UMA AGRADÁVEL SURPRESA. RÁPIDO DE LER, COM UMA HISTÓRIA DIVERTIDA, NO ENTANTO, COM UMA MENSAGEM IMPORTANTE POR DETRÁS.

Every element in this book was super underdeveloped. From the characters, to the conflict, the conversations, the angst, the fun, and even the resolution.

Also, it was so evident that the book club bits and things the men said were clearly what the author/ and a lot of women (including me) think, it read as phony when the men said it because it was too good to be true.

I thought the men in this book were hilarious, especially Mack and Gavin. I've always loved the healthy developed relationships in books where they truly dig through their shit to be a better partner and person. For instance, books like Icebreaker where they communicate their feelings are honestly so satisfying, because the miscommunication trope is the only thing that can make me outright aggressive. Overall, the well written relationship and personal development between all the characters is so far unmatched. I will most definitely be reading the rest of the series hoping Braden Mack gets his own book with Liv:)

I am bothered a lot by how this book turned out. People said it was about a man who understood his wife better with the help of romance books but I learned that Gavin is no man but just a pathetic man child.
He does not help with anything in the house, does not support Thesa in their marriage and when faced with the concequences of his actions, instead of changing for the better he quotes the romance book he is reading and threatens Thesa to give him a chance. What the fuck. AM I SUPPOSED TO BE GRATEFUL THAT THIS MANCHILD WANTED A CHANCE SO BADLY THAT HE EXPLOITED HIS WIFES'S WILL TO NOT LET HER CHILDREN BE TRAUMATISED AS SHE HAD BEEN?
It had so much potential, had Gavin been a human being and tried to be a family member instead of trying to seduce his wife through literal quotes from one romance novel. If you are a mature human being with dislike of men acting like incapable little children, you will not enjoy this book with a female lead who is a single parent despite them being married. And no,
Gavin did not get a redemption arc. Him seducing the main character was the redemption for his man child behaviour
. Hate this book.
