At first I was unsure of if I’d love this book. It has been on my TBR/libby hold list for MONTHS and I finally got 3 or 4 of my Libby holds and was just cranking them out. And let me tell you this book exceeded all expectations. I loved the sports aspect, the family dynamic, the development of the characters. It had me laughing and kicking my feet. I immediately went to borrow the next two books on kindle. It was such a fun easy read.

"All human beings are a work in progress, and we don't all change at the same pace."

I had mixed feelings on The Bromance Book Club, but I did have fun reading it. Sometimes it was cute, and sometimes I had a hard time taking it seriously.

Both of the main characters bothered me at times, and they did a lot of immature stuff. They both really need to see therapists to talk about what's going on with each of them, and with them together, but their relationship is supposedly fixed by romance books instead.

I was expecting the book to dive into the orgasm storyline, but it was just a side issue that was never really discussed, and it wasn't resolved in a satisfactory way. I felt that this was a missed opportunity & it frustrated me.

There were some cute moments, and I enjoyed reading a fair amount of the book. I liked the book club's friendship, and that they were honest with each other, and helped each other.

This was a full impulse buy for me. I was seeing it all over the gram and Target had a sale. I mean it had me at baseball and romance novels, and then I opened this beauty and couldn’t stop laughing. I mean the guys in the book are laugh out loud funny with many quotes you will love. I just love the idea of professional athletes and big wigs having a romance novel book club to help their relationships.

Thea’s character is a strong woman who lets her “backstory” impact her life too much. But I just love that she is a painter and doesn't want to do the other WAG things and tells Rachel off multiple times. Gavin is a professional baseball player and tries to “win” back his wife, I love seeing how much work he will put into it. I really like that Adam’s gets into the hard issues of marriage, trust, and childhood trauma and the impact of them.

Not to tell too much, just go read it! This is a one sit down book maybe two, I couldn’t put it down its so good.

This is my first book by Lyssa Kay Adams and loved her writing, witty remarks, this super creative take on romance novels, and strong females. I can’t not wait for the next book to come out!

“Don’t be ashamed for liking them. The backlash against the PSL [Pumpkin Spice Latte] is a perfect example of how toxic masculinity permeates even the most mundane things in life. If masses of women like something, our society automatically begins to mock them. Just like romance novels. If women like them, they must be a joke, right?”
