I loved this book, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a novel that they can't put down. This series will go by really fast. It is action packed and includes realistic romances between characters. The bond that you form with these characters will not be forgotten

Gosh! I'm glad I'm not Michael Grant and I don't have to figure out how to end this series!! So many changes...so many crazy momentos and several WTH's on this one! I liked it; but not as much as the previous one.
Hoo boy my respect for Sam took a STEEP dive during the first part of this book. I’m still unable to DISlike him simply because of how much they’ve all been through. That goes for almost all of the characters minus Caine and Drake. But yikes. These are children, way too young to be having sex. Sam has got to chill. He’s of course allowed to be frustrated but to put that frustration onto Astrid and constantly push her when she has already set CLEAR boundaries…
Astrid is finally coming down from her self-righteous position and accepting her own hypocrisy. She’s miserable and depressed but I’m hoping that this leads to some real character development.
Diana I just feel bad for. She thinks that she’s a master of manipulation but in truth she really is so weak. Caine gives her the upper hand only often enough to give her the illusion of control, but he does so knowingly, KNOWING that he’s letting her believe she’s come out on top.
Caine is worse than Drake in my opinion. Drake at least is predictable. Straight up evil, always takes the most evil, most obvious path to murder and violence. Caine is cunning and manipulative in the way Diana THINKS she is. Not to mention the ridiculous power Caine has, rivaled only really by Little Pete. He’s unpredictable and poses as great a problem as the Gaiaphage itself imo.
I truly love that Michael Grant doesn’t shy away from showing the horrible, dark, soul-tearing aspects of this story. Love, love, love how grim this series is, although I do see a tendency to pull back when it comes to killing off main characters.

In the fourth installment of the Gone series, so much happens. The main focus of this book, is, of course, a plague that gets spread all over the FAYZ. This plague isn't just any plague-Lana can't even help people survive this. If you get this plague, you basically get really sick and you end up coughing up tons of blood, until eventually you end up coughing up your insides, which is really nasty and gross, but then again, it's the FAYZ and everything unexpected will pretty much happen.
Lana gets called in to help with the sickness, though she finds out pretty quickly that she can't even help anyone, which makes her feel pretty useless. Lana can usually help just about anyone, except this time.
There's also a shortage of water while this plague is being spread around, so Sam and his crew all get together and go on a hunt to find tons of water because Albert believes there may be some somewhere else. They go on their trek and end up finding some water, but they also find this other place where there's a train filled with tons of boxes... boxes of Nutella, Pepsi, and even computers and missiles! They also find a guy named Toto, who claims that he had been there before the FAYZ had started. He says that doctors had been watching him and another girl because they seemed to have some sort of powers. Toto's power is truth-telling. Yes, he is Toto the Truth Teller. Toto's a bit insane, though. Probably from being locked up away from everyone else and eating Nutella for days. His best friend is a Spider-man cutout who he refers to as 'Spidey'.
Sam and Astrid had broken up, so Astrid pretty much spends the entire book looking after Petey. The council had pretty much gone to crap, so she had nothing else to really do and she never really wanted to be involved in the Council anyway. Caine is still on the island with Penny and Diana. They have running warm water and movies and popcorn. They're pretty much living the good life, and Caine sorta becomes a better person while he's there. He is of course my favorite character still. Yes, I like him even more than Sam.
Anyway, after this ending... I just need to get my hands on the last book and read it. And then I'll have to read Light. I just need to know how this series ends! So much has happened! This is definitely one of my favorite series, if not my favorite. If you haven't started this series and read any of the awesomeness by Michael Grant, I highly suggest you do so immediately!

My favorite in the series so far. A lot happened in this and that was exciting but with the amount that was packed in here, made it the story drag a bit in my opinion. I enjoyed all the characters and Dekka has become a favorite, I really enjoyed seeing more of her. But also poor Dekka, if you know you know. I'm enjoying my time with these books a lot and I'm excited to see how things start to wrap up.
