This was a fun read! Basically read the whole thing on the plane. Not super impressed tho. Adam didn’t feel like a real person at all honestly. I like the academia of it all. Olive was great. Excited for the movie

rereading this bc of all the buzz over the movie and it’s just as good as I remember! I love Adam so much

Wish I could rate this book higher but… it was incredibly off-colour and ableist to describe the main character as “wishing she were blind and deaf” in reaction to her feeling attracted to her fake boyfriend and listening to her friends chatter aimlessly.

Yeahhhhh wasn’t super impressed tbh. Rating only good pushed up to 3 stars cause it got good towards the end, but it shouldn’t have taken that long lol. I found the writing kinda cringe and the storyline ended up being a little cliche at times. It was an okay book but probably wouldn’t read again.

did i gave up sleep for an entire night because i couldnt stop reading this? YES
and i dont regret it

i need a sequel. dr adam carlsen is too good, i ate him up. the writing did send me back to my middle school fan fic era but it also made me squeal on my couch when she said “she loved him even more for it. for looking at her like she was the beginning and end of his every thought” i’d read it again

I just love Ali Hazelwood books! The banter was perfect and the slow burn was on point.
