I enjoyed listening to this book. Definitely a lot of triggers throughout the book, so beware of that. Paris overcame a lot to be where she is and maybe she can finally find peace. It sucks that there are kids who really go through trauma like this and have to do what they can to survive. Some of them don’t make it. This story had great character development, details were drawn out like a drama series, and I love that there was a small dose of love entered into the equation. No smut though lol, but I’m a sucker for potential romance. I was also shocked by the conclusion of Jimmy’s death. I was waiting for that confirmation since the beginning of the book.

Not my favorite of this author’s, but I appreciate the theme of generational trauma and how it affects people. It had a decent plot as well.

Called the twist pretty early on in the book, however it was written so well that I didn’t mind working my way through it. Fun cast of characters and yet another “good for her” book of female rage and revenge(little light on the rage, she could’ve been much angrier in my opinion, lol).

This book really wasn’t for me. I’ll be honest the first part was incredibly enjoyable but then it felt like it deviated a bit from the main plot and focused more on Paris past life. Which is fine but not what I envisioned the book was going to be. I though it would have been more of a mystery, crime thriller. But in reality felt like the opposite. The book itself was fine, it had some really good moments but in general was just lacking any sense of surprise or drive. I felt like giving up multiple times but just pushed through. The "plot twists” were incredibly obvious and boring. I’d already guessed them all by the 3rd part of the book.
