Despite the short length of "The Yellow Wallpaper", every time I read it there is another little detail to discover or a moment that sits with me differently than the time before.

A deeply disturbing depiction of what it was like to suffer with psychosis in the 1900s. What is so clear to us, postpartum, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, was just called “hysteria”. The prescription for her condition who is confinement and isolation. it’s no wonder she looked for understanding in an inanimate object with which she identified.
