Genuinely my least favourite FMC in the history of everything. So much awful. DNF 16%

This was a great book. Had me laughing out loud. I shed a few tears. I also rolled my eyes at Fox being dumb.

Enjoyed a bit more than I probably otherwise would have if not for the fact that my bf is older than me and also a tattoo artist. Listened to the audiobook, which was a duet, also a plus. Didn't really seem like there was character development for most of the book until suddenly at the end they kind of get it together. Overall though it was a good story.

Oh Fox!! The push and pull was atrocious but very rewarding!

I loved Janie’s character and felt so sad for all she had to go through!! But I loved her determination and how clear she was about her feelings and decisions.

Very enjoyable read! Has all the delicious bits and pieces, a hot, long haired, tattooed MMC, a sassy and vulnerable FMC, an age gap, her dad’s friend. Fun!!

Audiobook Review:

This book was narrated in duet by Maxine Mitchell & Sebastian York and they killed it!

Janie’s dad owned a famous tattoo shop until he passed away and left it to her. She’s an influencer and has no interest in owning the shop until she comes face to face with Fox, the tattooist that wants to take over the shop. Fox and Janie have a 17 year age gap, but in recent years they haven’t been able to stand each other so when Janie hears Fox make disparaging remarks about her she decides to show him! She decides she’s not going to sell and she’s going to help run the shop instead.

Janie is a spitfire and Fox is an alpha lumbersnack (i love this term

these 2 ppl are sooo annoying...

instead of enjoying the story, i found myself frustrated with them and their flip-flopping and complaining. And the lack of smut made it worse.

Fmc has no self-worth. Seeks validation from a bunch of strangers, which makes sense a little bit cause it's her job. But if mmc so much as looks away from her, she's screaming "am i not attractive anymore...?!"

girl, can you stop? this behavior is so gross.

Mmc doesn't know what he wants, which makes fmc even more insecure and screaming in my ear.. not a good time. Not an attractive mmc

Fox is the first book in the Hel’s Ink series, but it can be read as a standalone.

Janie was fierce and sassy, and she refused to just let people walk all over her.

Fox was broody, and he was upset when Janie’s father left her the tattoo shop over him.

These two clashed so much, but under it all, they had sparks between them. And whew, some
part were hot. Even though they couldn’t stand each other at first, they ended up truly getting to know each other, and they were so good together.

Audio:
Narrators: Sebastian York and Maxine Mitchell
Narration Style: Duet

The audiobook was fantastic! Both narrators had the perfect voice for their character and they truly
brought the story to life.

I thought I loved the original version of this book, but this revamped version...omg! I devoured it. Fox and Janie are everything and more than what they were in the original!
