Just by the synapses I was intrigued and wanted to read this book. Sadly I couldn’t find a connection to Janie or Fox. I thought they were wonderful characters but their chemistry didn’t pour off the page for me. The plot seemed to be drawn out and I didn’t feel like I was reading about them finding romance, but them as separate characters interacting instead.
I think that this book has two characters that need each other to heal and they do work well together. It takes some time and patience but this book grew on me. I liked the characters, I liked the concept of the book, I just was sad that I couldn’t connect with it.

Oh Fox was a big ol dummy sometimes but gosh is he loveable and delicious. His care for Janie really put him in a weird spot that I wasn’t sure he could dig his way out of.
Janie was the perfect character… all her complexities making her such a strong but kind and caring person while being there for the people she found to care for and that supported in her return.
The story followed really well, giving time advances easily without it feeling forced or unnecessary. The build up and scenarios that these two found themselves in was amazing and adorable and I wanted to die of love when that man dropped to his knees!
Such a great book with the couple dynamic that fought for attention through the end. I highly recommend.

I only have two complaints:
1. 43 is NOT old. It’s said to be old multiple times throughout the book and it’s totally lying to you.
2. I’m not a fan of spit.
Minus a fourth of a star for those two reasons. 4.5 Stars from me.
Fox was much more than I expected. I just want to love him and then let him have his dirty little way with me.
Janie was a strong heroine. I usually get annoyed by those, but I found her to be so much more than merely tolerable. I’d totally be friends with her in real life.
Buying this for my at home collection, and moving on to Atlas’ book! He’s a riot and I hope his story doesn’t disappoint!

Fox by DJ Krimmer is the first book in the Hel’s Ink series. I absolutely loved this book! The banter, spice, and plot was so good. I enjoyed all these characters and loved the romance.. The enemies to lovers was so good in this book. These two had me laughing so much with the back and forth bickering in the beginning. I read this book in one sitting. I am so excited to see what awaits the rest of the Hel’s Ink crew in the next books in this series!
Janie was witty, sweet, and determined! Watching her character development throughout this book was fun. I was rooting for her to realize her worth away from her social media persona!! I really loved her characters and I think Fox was the perfect match for her. She was so fiery! Fox aka Papa Fox was everything you would want in a grumpy, hot, older book boyfriend. The more I learned about his backstory the more I felt for his character. Both Fox and Janie had some great character development and I loved how they both realized what they needed to work through to make their relationship work. Watching their relationship progress from enemies to lovers was so entertaining. I loved all the characters in this book! I highly recommend this book if you like age gap, enemies to lovers, banter, and spice!!
This was my first @djkrimmer book and holy shit!!! I am now a huge fan! This book captured my attention from the beginning and it was just so good! I am so excited to read the rest of the Hel’s Ink series!
