For the first 300 pages the book was slow and way too descriptive. About 350 pages in, the book became AMAZING. Still way too detailed but amazing! Such a great love story.

Okay, to be fair I have to admit that I only got a few chapters into this before I realized that it just wasn't my type of read.

I really hated this book so much. I hated the characters, I could not connect with them at all. The writing style was so boring and uninteresting to me. While reading this book I was always in one of two states: bored or wildly uncomfortable. I hated that so much of the book was Henry "hanging out" with Claire as a child, the whole situation felt like grooming to me. I hated their relationship and I hated how many unnecessary sex scenes there were. I felt nothing at all when Henry died except for relief because that meant that the book was almost over. I hated how Claire had an affair with her best friend's partner TWICE. These characters were so unlikable I wish I had not read this book in the first place. As soon as I finished the book, my first thought was that reading this book was a waste of time. Genuinely, the characters felt so flat. I hope to forget this book as soon as I can. I don't want it wasting space in my brain.
