How this has ever gotten a bad rating I honestly don’t know… this childhood sweethearts romance really touched me. Genuinely don’t think I’ve ever read such a sweet book. Sure, Rune and Poppy have their ups and then downs toward the middle and Rune is very angsty but I loved it. THAT ENDING.
To say with no spoilers - I’m torn about the epilogue which is why I take off half a star. Part of me wishes that I just didn’t read the epilogue and left it at the last chapter.

One of the most beautiful and heart breaking books I’ve ever read.
This book had me cry the whole way through! It is absolutely beautiful and emotional heartbreaking at the same time.
The love these two have for each other is soulmate level. It's the kind of love people dream about. This book will make you be grateful every day and to jot take it for granted.

Such an emotional read about Poppy and Rune. Whilst Poppy was very loveable, in my opinion Rune was less so, and parts of his behaviour I found it hard to let go of especially him distancing himself from his family particularly his little brother. Whilst you could see what was going to happen from way off, it was still an emotionally charged read. It is a young adult book, and I can see how popular this book is. a star off for Poppy, forgiving Rune too easily and Rune becoming a bad boy.... that said, it's a real tear jerker, so be prepared for tissue use.... great stuff if you wish to go through the ringer
