Eh. Not really my thing. Too much teen angst and really just a shitty little love story of teens. Was it sad? Ya. Did I cry? No not really. Lol. But tis my opinion and that’s ok. I hope others will enjoy it!

rune was on my last NERVE. WHINY LIL BOY. WHY DOES SHE EVEN LOVE HIM. i felt after the 2 year gap they fell back in love way too quick it felt unearned. HE LITERALLY CALLED YOU A BITCH. this man is EVIL. and i love how her parents are concerned about rune because oh hes such a bad boy now he smokes cigarettes and goes to parties like a normal teenager. oOoOo hes gonna poison your daughter with his age appropriate rebellion. HES GONNA POISON HER CUZ HES MEAN TO HIS FAMILY AFTER THEY DID NOTHING WRONG THATS WHAT THEY SHOULD FOCUS ON. like your dad is doing his friggen best. but okay if your mad at him fine, BUT YOUR LITTLE BROTHER??? WHAT THE EFF DID HE DO TO YOU??? WHATS YOUR PROBLEM DUDE. hes just wearing red flags. poppy doesnt know any better cuz shes never been with anyone else. POPPY. I HOPE YOU FIND SOMEONE ELSE IN HEAVEN. THIS BOZO ISNT CUTTING IT.

the random slut shaming felt like whiplash in something that felt it was supposed to be cutesy.

i enjoyed the new york portion, it was a bit sweet. but personally the rest of the book was a bit too cheesy for me. maybe im a hater.

honestly felt a bit repetitive at times.

also he died!?!?! after like 11 years!??! no explaination.

i kinda wished he found love again. but i also dont know anything about grieving a significant other.

i finished this book out of pure spite. IM NOT A QUITTER. my heart almost burst. in a bad way.

to ppl who recommended this to me count your days. im kidding ofc. its just not my cup of tea. if you loved it you do you boo but i seriously question your taste in romantic partners.

Ok, I get the appeal with this book, crazy sauce teenager emotions, mixed with the foreign Viking, the musical nerdy girl and a tragic ending, what's not to love?! Well, it has the undertones of all the things that reenforce teenagers thinking their parents are the enemies and that nothing matters but the hormones coursing through their veins. The writing is sickly sweet and sappy, oozing over every page. The anger of Rune feels over exaggerated, I disliked his character arch the most. Nothing about his attitude and demeaner would want Poppy to take him back but she does. It felt forced. I read it in a day so it does hook you.
