Once again, I'm blown away by the boys of Briar U! In this one, we get to see playboy Dean at his finest paired with Hannah's BFF Allie Hayes. I remembered a bit about Allie and her tumultuous relationship with Sean from the first book, but it really got fleshed out in this one. Needless to say, I wasn't sad to see Sean get the boot.
Allie and Dean were an explosive couple, and even though they were an unlikely pair looking on the outside, they were so compatible at the core. This installment was, by far, the spiciest of all of them, so be prepared. Take what you got out of the first two and amp it up two or three notches. But then again, would we expect anything less from Dean?
There were so many moments in this one that made me swoon, laugh, melt into a puddle, and want to scream. I loved learning more about Dean's backstory, his family, his passions outside of hockey, his potential with younger players, and seeing him actually take on a relationship. He's just one big cinnamon roll, and I'm here for it!
Allie really came out of her shell and finally stood up for herself in numerous areas of her life. It was nice seeing that side of her come to light, and watching her struggle to find who she was outside of her relationships was glorious. I loved how protective she was of her father, and her dad's whole back and forth with Dean was interesting, to say the least.
This one's been a top contender so far, and I'm excited to go on to the next one! The ending of this one really set the next up to be a gut punch, so we'll see how it goes.
