Not good but I wanted to know what happened

DNF at 40%

these 3 books have honestly been such a waste of time and effort into reading them. the first one began with a good plot line, that slowly began getting more and more boring and by the second book i felt like i knew what every interaction was going to look like by dutch and cadence. dutch hated her for 2 entire books and wanted to ruin her life but then jumping straight into the 3rd one he was obsessed and couldn’t think of anything but her?

the plot in this book was hardly there, for the small portion i did read, and i had no interest in it at all. i tried to power through just to see what happened but after reading some reviews on here i dont even want to try.

the author completely forgot about time lines, all three of these books are in the space of ONE school year. it seems like she had a good idea for a story but slowly forgot the original idea and went on a tangent. cadence and viola’s whole life is about how their orphans and have to fend for themselves, but then their mum randomly comes back and it turns out she wasnt dead the whole time? why was that a plot? what did that add?

theres so many unnecessary scenes the whole book could have been wrapped up in 1 or 2, like most others have, but instead the hatred between the two mc’s is dragged out across 3 chapters and theirs maybe 3 nice interactions between them that usually end with them being nasty to each other anyway.

do not waste your time reading these, i fell into the tiktok book trap and so wish i didn’t. awful books, with no continuous storyline except hatred

Alright I love everyone. The ending still wasn’t what I expected and I think I like that even more depending on how the next book goes.
I was expecting all the problems from the first 3 with cadence and Dutch to be tied up and finished and new shit to start with the brothers’ books but their dad is still a pain in the ass, cadence was puking like she was obviously pregnant but she also took plan b so I’m guessing they’ll say it didn’t work? Still don’t know anything about jinx other than I’m sure that’s who Finn will end up with. And at the end of the book Zane’s teacher girl called to tell cadence that her mom was dead (even though she had already fake died once she must be real dead) probably because she couldn’t keep her from marrying Dutch and starting the process of getting that inheritance.

Loved it
Some lose endings and drama they forgot about in in conclusion but it was good
Feels weird to have their love story unfinished and have it continue fin the next book from Zanes pov

the ending felt rushed
