This book starts with a sweet prologue where you see the childhood friendship turn into something more. Childhood friends to lovers, Amelia follows Nate to Nashville to help him pursue his dreams of a career in music. While there, the two of them get married but hold the info back from their family and friends until the time is right. While they are waiting for this perfect time, issues arise and Amelia files for divorce and moves back to their hometown. A few years later, Nate comes back for her. But why did it take him so long?

Nate is a total cinnamon roll and Amelia is the grumpy one. She believes Nate did something bad which fueled their divorce. But there's also something bad that Nate's band mate did to Amelia that no one knows about. There's quite a bit of miscommunication in this book, but don't let it fool you. This is a great read that covers some heavy topics, so you'll want to check the content warnings listed on the author's website.

This is the first time I've listened to both Hannah Chiclana and Edward Black and I'll tell you it definitely won't be the last! Both had great narration in their wide variety of characters and I'll be checking out their other work.

THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU IF:  You love a grumpy, feisty leading lady with a soft spot for chocolate, and a tattooed, guitar playing guy determined to win her back.

Yes if...second chance small town romance is your thing and you enjoy childhood friends to lovers

No, if the nickname cookie gives you cringe ( it did for me), and you dislike miscommunication/lack of communication trope (my least favorite trope)

Super cute!!

This was an adorable second chance romance that pulled on your heart strings. The way the story comes together is fantastic. I definitely recommend!
