I read the Smith & Wetzon series first a couple of years back in the German translation, raiding my mum's books and I loved them then. Re-reading this one now was a bit of a slug, to be honest. There's a couple of to be expected early-90s moments (pay phones, everyone?) re: technology, which was mostly fun. Smith... Wasn't as much fun. Someone remind me why we pat her on the head and let all her comments etc go?
Still love Wetzon though, and stumbled upon a couple of scenes I vaguely remembered from time to time, so. Worth the fighting through.
