roadtrip audio book. two men, Ike and Buddy Lee become unlikely allies when their sons are killed. They decide to find justice when the police investigation seems to be stalled. Their sons were gay and married to each other and both men had treated their sons badly. The story spends a good bit of time showing how the Dad's discover how much that they have lost by not accepting their sons as the men that they were. Ike and Buddy Lee are able to defeat an entire motorcycle gang, a drug dealer or two and a crooked racist, homophobe politician. lots of foul language, explosions, knife fights and guns.

The overuse of similes drove me crazy. Parts of the book were very touching and engaging but the story was a bit predictable.

This. Book. I am so happy to have this book in my collection. SA Cosby did an amazing job capturing paternal rage and grief. I found my heart going to Ike and Buddy Lee and feeling their longing for vengeance for their sons, guilt over the judgement they passed, and finally satisfaction. This book definitely has topics that are hard to read about, homicide, homophobia, misogyny, racism, ect…
