I read this on Kindle Unlimited. I picked up this book partially because it is for my Spicy Bookclub for August 2025, but it's also been on my TBR list for a bit. (The large amount of bookstigram fantasy retelling lists got me)

I did enjoy this book, it was fast-paced and interesting and I definitely wanted to know what happened with all the revenge. However, I wish some of the side characters got flushed out a little more, especially when the main characters started looking at certain side characters more. It felt like we were just told how they are, not shown.

That being said, I enjoyed my read and have already downloaded the second in the series from Kindle Unlimited to read.
