The characters and general plot were fine. But certain nuances were missing to make it great

What a fun rendition of Peter Pan. The audiobook narrators were enjoyable to listen to. My biggest complaint is that the MMC made a huge mistake that negatively affected the FMC, and when he realized he screwed up, he didn’t grovel nearly as much as he should have. She was like, oh no worries I totally understand and then they moved on. Besides that, it was fun to read and hard to put down. 3/5

I loved this book so much more than I expected. It is super different from my usual taste in books, but I absolutely enjoyed every second of this. It was kind of funny, running across all the Peter Pan names and references, but that was just surface level. The characters were so thoroughly developed with such deep and dark backstories that it just drew me in.

The last 10% of the book had my jaw on the floor because I did NOT see that coming. I can't say any more without spoiling, but I absolutely loved this.

I guess sometimes it's fun to love the villain.

Dark and Spicy, those are the two words I would use to describe this book. Though, the spicy scenes were fewer than I expected, and I didn't mind that. My first concern going into this book was the the smut would outweigh the story. Joke is on me though, because it seemed balanced and on par for the characters.

I weirdly enjoyed AND disliked the play on the Peter Pan tale. It was like fun, but also annoying. I rolled my eyes when Smee came into the picture and the play on crocodiles and clocks. Just seemed a little to quirky for me, but also imaginative.

As for being dark, this may be as dark as I could go in a book. I've debated reading "Haunting Adeline" and I'm for sure not going there after this one. There is a lot of violence, like A LOT. Also, Hook is a HUGE red flag the entire time. Some of his darkness bleeds into the relationship and I just wasn't a fan of that.

This got 3 stars for me. It was an enjoyable quick read, but was lacking in story meat for me. Add in the darkness and the not LOVING the Peter Pan spin, and ta-da, 3 stars!
