This book got me hooked!! A thrilling romance that flips the classic Villain on its head. The story follows James aka Hook, who falls in love with Wendy the daughter of the man responsible for his parent's death. So he is wanting revenge and is using Wendy. It's packed with intense, gruesome deaths that keep the reader on the edge of their seat. While the plot is undeniable entertaining and intriguing, it does lean towards the predictable side. Overall, it's a gripping read for fans of dark romance and action. Fast read with some great spice!

Audiobook: Was hard to listen to at times, especially when the two main narrators read the lines of side characters. I feel like Wendy forgave Hook too quickly? Was fine as an interim book before starting another series.

This was my first dark romance, and I loved it! But I think what was best about it, is that I didn’t know what to expect. Were Wendy & James going to get a happy ending? Would they make it through to the end of the book? I honestly didn’t know what was going to happen and I loved that!! I will definitely be reading more books in this series, & more dark romances in general!

I found the book too strong for my personal taste. Also a bit questionable. The description of Wendy through the eyes of James/Hook and ehat he wants to do to her, how sexually explicit the book is... and I can see it gets "worse" through the reviews. I like plot and character development. I like story. I don't mind some spice, but it kind of has to make sense and not feel so... creepy.
