I was immediately drawn in by these two souls that find each other on the worst days of their life. I love that the universe keeps bringing them together and his deep love for her is so pure. Not to mention the possessiveness and the idea of a love triangle with his brother? Hot. Plus excellent smut.

First of all, I cannot get over the fact that they met and fell in love when she was 14 and he was 5 years older.
Second, everyone either monologues or speaks in paragraphs. Even as teenagers the characters have very long speeches with extremely proper grammar & formal tones.
No one talks like that.
I guess it's cute that they reconnect when she's 23 and he's rich but there was so much trauma and weird vibes throughout the book that I could not get over & enjoy the story.
ALSO - not ONCE did the girl give herself a Google. Five years of no memory but a driver's license and she didn't think to check out a single thing.
There were some cute lines & nice notes about grief, but not enough for me to overlook the rest of the disappointment I found here.
Will not be rereading & probably won't check out more from this author.

I hate that Amy ended up with Ryan. The author made such a big deal out of how much Amy didn't trust him, how she had such good intuition and then with one line, boom, they're dating. He has almost no personality and I doubt he would change from the scornful baby he was SO quickly.

                                                                                   Alanna & Silas (HEA):
They met as young teens during mutual funeral services, where they had an instant connection. When Silas is unexpectedly cut off, he finds himself in a homeless shelter questioning everything and plotting revenge. Coincidence or fate brought them back together when Alanna started volunteering at the homeless shelter. Silas attempted to put a distance between them; he didn’t want Alanna or himself to get too attached to the other. Silas no longer had access to the wealthy lifestyle he grew up with and he didn’t want pity.

No matter how much distance he tried to place between them, Silas and Alanna were drawn to each other. Their relationship was developed over time; Silas was a few years older than Alanna when they met. Their friendship was solid as was their build up of emotions and feeling for one another. They were in sync and they started falling in love the day they met.

The ex-boyfriend’s older brother trope (mentioned in the book’s description) didn’t come into play until later into the book. Alanna and Silas’ relationship needs to be rebuilt after five years apart.

Readers are able to see the relationship from the start, through five years of separation, and being rebuilt. While the relationship took time to develop, it wasn’t a complete slow burn but it wasn’t rushed. Silas’ devotion to Alanna, their past, present and future is what dreams are made of. Silas is an amazing boyfriend. “I will always make time for you, Alanna. I will never force you to fit in between the margins of my life. You will always be the center of everything I do,” (108).
