This book did profiles very well. Some (most) of these people are absolute monsters. Wasn't cohesive beside the rushed and underdeveloped epilogue's insistence it was, but that itself was not a fault.

This books starts really slow, but it gets better as she moves toward modern day. Like many other people, I wish there was more criticism and commentary throughout, but it was still interesting to learn the history.

3.5 stars, really enjoyed hearing about some of the original reality shows, and when the big successes and big flops occurred along the way. Wished I was left with a broader understanding / memory of the big phases of reality TV. Certainly makes Mark Burnett seem like a kingmaker.

Disappointing. Informative but lacks interesting things to say about the subject.
