This book was spectacular. A detailed, thorough history of reality television, and the paths that some of the most famous shows took to become household names. I really loved the way the author organized the book, leading up to the show that…got us where we are now. I now have opinions on eras of televisions I wasn’t even alive to witness and new shows to go dig for. Emily Nussbaum won a Pulitzer Prize before writing this book, and with the research and writing skills she has, I certainly see another in her future.

This should be supplementary text in the study of the USA in the post WWII era. Pop culture says more about the general feeling of a population and reality TV trends prove that. Expertly written and curated.
