Entertaining and thoughtful history of reality television that takes its topic seriously and thinks deeply about its causes, effects, and implications - with a good dose of gossipy BTS. Because I am a snob who hadn't seen most of these shows, I appreciate getting schooled in the major storylines and cultural impacts. I couldn't bring myself to read the final chapter which concerns The Apprentice.
