This book is very hard for me to rate so my rating will probably change later.

I love the premise of this book. The games in Phantasma were incredible and exactly the level of realistic deaths/darkness I’d expect in something like this.
Phantasma (the house/game) itself kept me intrigued enough to keep reading. So did Blackwell.

Im a spice lover. But the sex scenes in this story was so explicit, it really just took me out of the story. I skipped through them because they truly added nothing to the plot.

I know some people are annoyed at the ending but I enjoyed it. Don’t go in expecting the next great American novel. If you go into this book just looking for some entertainment, twists and turns, and romance… you’ll love this book.

I am not usually one for horror, gore, and such. But this book is not as grotesque as I thought it would be, at least not to me. I loved the story, the spice, the characters. I loved the different beings, the different devils and the use of the 7 sins. I love the costumes and style put into the story.

The plot was predictable, but the journey was fun nonetheless. I loved that the author spread awareness of OCD through the main character.

The narrator for the audiobook was phenomenal.

This was a pretty unique read, and kind of hard to put down. In the end, I do wish that the games/trials were a little bit more prominent. I feel like once the steam and side quest started coming into the picture, we kind of lost that attention we had on Phantasma but other than that it was a very addictive read. Plus, I'm so curious how Genevieve is even getting a book because everything gets wrapped up pretty tight in this one.

The concept and care in portraying OCD was really nice, and the characters were relatable. The pace was quite quick, with lots of events to pull through. The romance felt like there wasn’t enough tension towards middle end, and some of the payoffs of the building tension were a bit flat. I also question the practicality of wearing gothic corsets and long skirts for every day, but I can suspend my disbelief on that one
