This was a fun ride.

Angela is calmly creepy in this page turner about her obsession with her high school love. The way she goes through the whole book acting like she is innocent and I think she believes she is. Pretty good story

Angela Petitjean is sitting in a police interogation room. She is being questioned for the disappearance of her high school sweetheart's wife. Detective Novak knows that Angela knows what happens, but Angela wants to tell him the story of her and her first love, HP. As Angela tells the story, the story of what happened to HP's wife slowly emerges. But it's not what you think.

This book was very good. Is Angela the bad guy or is the wrongly accused ex? This is definitely a popular style book right now, but this one was unpredictable and intense. It kept me guessing and interested through the entire thing.

I received this book in a Goodreads giveaway.

This is definitely a slow burn thriller. It was a nice change of pace from this twisty, faced paced thrillers that I’ve gotten used to reading lately. The unreliable narrator had me wondering where the story was going to go and I stayed up late to finish because I didn’t want to put it down.

However, I would say this thriller ended up not being for me. By the time I got to the end, I was kind of left just wondering.... huh? 🤔 It just felt like so much build up and then the ending was anticlimactic.

If you’re a fan of slow building thrillers, unreliable narrators, or you’re looking for a quick read that you can’t put down, then you might enjoy this read.
