The story becomes a bit more tired, after the confrontation between Sai and Toya Meijin. Afterwards, Hikaru is just finding new challenges, in a 6 dan player named Kurata. He notices Hikaru's strength when Hikaru challenges him to a game.

This story is comfort food for me. I can't quite put my finger on what keeps me rereading/rewatching this and the anime, but my interest in Go certainly helps. I also like that it's a generally positive story about getting good at something

These matches just don’t let up! Every time I think things can’t be more tense, I’m proven wrong! The mangaka certainly knows how to keep ya interested, that’s for sure…

Somehow, the English editions of some of these didn't make their way onto goodreads.

THE FORESHADOWING

one-color go was fun & a cool way to see Hikaru progressing, but also, what a terrible game that would be. what a nightmare.

& I TOTALLY FORGOT Sai got to play Toya Meijin. Such a climactic battle

The Sai vs Meijin arc ends. I think this is my second favorite storyline in this series. The fight with Kurata at the end was good too.
