I really really loved this book. The premise is hilarious, I ended up telling pretty much everyone I met up with to read this absolute chaotic mess of a book. Finlay is such a relatable main character, she's so messy and unhinged and weirdly okay with murder, definitely in need of some therapy. Vero was also absolutely amazing, an icon, and such a supportive friend. I definitely got a Thelma and Louise vibe off of their relationship.
But oh. my. god. I hate Steven so much. He is such a fucking jerk, I low key would not mind if he died.
The love triangle is also pretty interesting, but I would love it if it ended in a lovely poly relationship between Julian, Nick and Finlay, maybe even Vero too.

Couldn’t put it down, read the first 8 chapters last night and finished the rest in an afternoon

If you need a book to get you out of a reading slump, this is it. It’s not pretentious or intimidating in anyway. It’s easy and fast paced and once you pick it up you’ll want to keep reading forever. This is a story that will have you slapping your forehead for how perfectly imperfect the journey is for the main characters. Even the last paragraph leaves you with a sharp intake of breath that has me begging for the next (?) book to come out literally immediately. Yeah this was great. Plus little bits of hot make outs and butterflies in stomachs really put the cherry on top.

Lots of fun to be had here - as promised, by many bookish pals!

You can’t help but root for Finlay as she tries to handle all the shit life has thrown her way. She’s a little bit out of control, a little bit hapless, but she’s managing, and underneath it all, she doesn’t miss much.

This one moves along at a brisk pace, and there are some humorous moments along the way. I’m here for more romantic tension in the second book, since I thought the author accomplished that element particularly well.

I think I was expecting even more, however - more funny, more mysterious / pageturny, more depth to the characters? I was expecting a lot, and it didn’t reach that level of total satisfaction for me. Still, it was a well-put together, easy, entertaining read and I’m totally in for the rest of the series.

This was a fun story overall, but I am always annoyed when otherwise intelligent characters have to be complete idiots to move the plot along. I will probably give the sequel a try when it comes out, though, because the characters and the premise were a lot of fun.
