I really enjoyed this book. It showed great character development and felt really empowering.

Sutton was such a strong character to have gone through what she did, but still have a positive outlook on life and believe that she deserved happiness.

Callahan’s character had so many levels to it but what I loved the most was that Bromberg didn’t follow the usual grumpy/sunshine route by making Callahan a moody billionaire alphahole. Instead he was humorous, determined and emotional.

There was so much sexual tension between the two characters, due to the forbidden element. When they finally hooked up you almost felt as desperate as the characters did. I haven’t read spice that good in a while.

The story felt very realistic. I felt like the romance progressed naturally. But what I loved most was how Sutton was constantly on the phone with her friend (Lizzie), asking for advice and keeping her updated on what was going on. Everyone does this in real life so these scenes felt very relatable.

The start of this book was hilarious. I’ve never read an incident like that before so it really made me laugh. It was a very clever way to start the story.

I will definitely be reading the next book in the series! I’m really excited to know who the other Sharpe brothers are going to be partnered up with because there were no clues.

Note: check trigger warnings.

✦ Tropes: Billionaire alpha, boss & employee, forced proximity, destination romance, one-night stand

Wat zijn Callahan en Sutton twee prachtige personages. Beiden ietwat beschadigd, maar ze halen echt het beste in elkaar naar boven. Heel mooi neergezet en genoten van de spanning tussen de twee personages.

excuse number one for picking this up blah blah blah awkward laughter vague veiled suit kink mention played off as sarcasm excuse number two blah blah palette cleanser blame a friend's review unnecessary excuse number three blah
