I’m going to be honest here. At first, I DNFd Last Resort. It opened with a long hot sex scene between characters I didn’t know yet, then, after the best sex of her life, Sutton meets her first client after a big promotion, and of course it’s the same guy…only there are 3 of him. Yes. THREE HOT BILLIONAIRE TRIPLETS. My eyes rolled a bit too much and I decided to just move on to book two. As soon as I started On One Condition, I fell in love with it. So I stopped (though it was difficult), and went back to Last Resort by K. Bromberg and gave it another chance.

I’m glad I did. Once I got over the insta-sex and the over-the-top tropeyness (is that a word? Heehee, take off the “tro”-yes, I’m 12). And I got into the meat (haha-did it again) of the story, I actually really enjoyed it.

Callahan is kind of the black sheep; the bad brother. His two brothers took over running their dad’s company, S.I.N. International, and Callahan never really wanted to. All three brothers are struggling in their own way to get over the death of their father.

Sutton just broke up with a controlling asshole, and is excited to get a promotion consulting for S.I.N. International, helping to renovate a resort in the Virgin Islands. That’s when she went out to celebrate, and had an amazing one-nighter with a man without exchanging names. Of course he is the same brother assigned to work with Sutton on the resort in the Virgin Islands.

Callahan makes sure they “accidentally” share a corporate bungalow, and Sutton doesn’t want to look like she slept her way to the top. So begins the push and pull between the two of them. They know they have amazing chemistry. They’ve tasted each other. Can they stay away?
“Everyone Begs. When it’s good enough, you beg,”

Likes:

  • •Once we delved into the story, there were a lot of layers to unfold.

  • •Absolute chemistry.

  • •Great character growth.

  • •They both brought out the best in each other.

  • •Lots of funny and playful banter.

  • •I really liked getting to know the brothers leading up to their stories.

  • Dislikes:

    • •Most people will love this, but it started off with a “bang”, quite literally. I didn’t know the characters yet so it just felt like the book would be all sex, no substance.

    • •3 hot triplet billionaire brothers? There are less than 600 billionaires in the US. And there are only a few sets of identical triplets born each year. It just felt corny and tropey.

    • •My biggest problem with Last Resort is that it is so similar to another series I am listening to, even the narrators are the same. That series features 3 real estate developer brothers, and the heroine is hired as a consultant on one of the buildings. I kept confusing them. I’m not saying anyone stole ideas, it’s just that typical of a trope.

    The Narration:

You can never go wrong with Stella Hunter and Aaron Shedlock. Their voices conveyed all the emotion and chemistry without ever feeling over acted. I highly recommend the audio unless listening to explicit sex is not your thing.

    The Down & Dirty:

My spicy readers will love Last Resort. At first it felt like it was all sex and no story, but when I gave it more of a chance I found there was a lot more substance. I loved the characters and their growth, as well as the banter, but it had a rough start for me. The story is full of common tropes and as I write this review I’m confusing it with another book that is so similar. But still, once I got into Last Resort, I couldn't put it down.

I’m finishing this review after reading book 2, On One Condition, which I really loved, and I’m so excited now for the 3rd in the series.

    Rating: 4 Stars, 4.5 Flame, 5 Narration

    Love love love this book

Absolutely over this book. I was hooked right from the beginning. It was the first book in a while that had me crying tears of sadness and joy! 10/10 would recommend!

    5/5 ⭐️

ARC kindly given to me by the author, k. bromberg & valetinepr.

If there’s one thing I love it’s a business world/empire ran by brothers who each get their own book. It’s my bread and butter and it’s probably my favourite thing to read about, probably because i either have major girl crushes on the girls and their fiery passion, wit and desire and then insane crushes on the sexy, hot ceo men in these stories.

The Last Resort was like no other.

Sutton & Callahan, oh how I love the banter, bickering, flirting and banter shared between these two.

One night stand turned boss/employee relationship tasked on rebuilding a destination island hotel for his family’s company. These two share in charisma, charm and passion building there everlasting tension. You want a book with tension, this is the one for you. It’s not necessarily enemies to lovers but it does have some of the best features of that said trope.

Cal & Sutton, I loved the whole ‘what’s in it for me?’ in the end I’d say love of both parts and their person. Watching Callahan grow, and see his relationship with his dad be different from his brothers was beautiful and the whole he loved us, but he did so differently.

I loved these two and I cannot wait to read about Ledger & Ford! Also it can’t help that one of my top baby boy names is Callahan (so when I come back in a few years time and I have a son called Cal don’t be surprised, also I love and adore the name Sutton so that doesn’t hurt either.)

    Tropes
    ⛵️ vacation romance
    ⛵️ ceo & work partner
    ⛵️ enemies to lovers
    ⛵️ spice, banter & love

    ⭐️: 3.5 stars
This book completely hooked me from the start and delivered the full package to the very end. At first it felt like all sex and no story but thank God that was not the case. Sutton and Callahan were both broken in different ways and although their relationship started of with just a one night stand it turns into a more then just sex. It is such an enjoyable read with some great banter between the characters. Their love story is full of surprises, tremendous heat, romance, drama, grief and baggage from the past.

    ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

    Unexpectedly emotional

I had heard so many people raving about this book and author that I just had to pick it up. I was not expecting all the emotional feelings it brought out. She just wrote their story so beautifully and made their feelings and struggles seem so real. I can't wait to read the next books in the series
