I don't quite know how to feel about this book. I saw the movie first and it inspired me to read the book, KNOWING that the book is ALWAYS better than the film. However, this might be the first book I have ever read that paled in comparison to its movie counterpart. The premise itself gets 3 stars because I love the idea of having a connection with someone beyond the grave, but all the magic that was present in the movie, was nowhere to be found in the book. The characters were lifeless and boring, her extended family and friends she refers to in the book serve ABSOLUTELY no purpose at times (probably why they cut them out in the movie). The trip she takes with her girlfriends is just a blip on the radar, no bonding, no "strong women" innuendos, just a trip, nothing more. I guess with the book there were so many lost opportunities that the scriptwriters clearly saw and swiftly made changes to. So this is my FIRST OFFICIAL book I liked less than the movie. Sorry all!

This is an amazing book with such an emotional rollercoaster....I cried when she read his last letter
I have no words. Only tears. This book is so beautiful and emotional and I am just so in love with Cecelia Ahern's work yet again. I couldn't recommend this enough. I also enjoyed the fact that it was so different from the film, it was easy to separate the both in my mind. Absolutely brilliant.
Bought this at the grocery store and didn't much care for it. Wanted to like it because of the premise, but the way she wrote it was really contrived.
fast-paced
I enjoyed this book, it was quiet different to the movie, I like then both for different reasons.
I would give this three and a half stars. I really wish Goodreads would let you do halfstars. Anyway, I had a hard time thinking of what to write for this review. I'm glad the ending was not exactly what I expected. I teared up, but I did not cry, and I AM a crier. Overall, I am glad that I read this book.
