First of all, the cover art is gorgeous and I'm obsessed with it. This book explores religion and sexuality and I think it's done really well. Sebastian is just so precious and his journey of self-discovery is heartbreaking to read at times but I love the way he comes to slowly accept himself despite the challenges from his family and religion throughout the book. Tanner as a character annoyed me sometimes with the things he said/did but Tanner and Sebastian's romance was very cute and the bisexual representation was great. Overall a solid read!

I saw this book on a shelf at Barnes and Noble and the cover was just SO PRETTY that I had to pick it up and look at it (also crossing my fingers that it was lgbt+, which it is!!). I bought it a few days later and read it in a little under 3 days. This book is so cute and heartbreaking and amazing and I’m so glad I got it. It’s honestly one of the best books I’ve ever read and my heart gets all fuzzy just thinking about it.

It tells a super important story about sexuality and religion and I think it will help a lot of kids like Sebastian who pick it up. Though I’m not religious, it did give me a view on the other sides story.

Also, there’s not many books where they make a BISEXUAL CHARACTER and actual repeatedly say that they’re bisexual. Not gay, not straight, BI. And I think that’s really important for bisexual youth because they don’t get a lot of representation.

All-in-all, this is an amazing book and i highly recommend it.

UPDATE: reread this because obviously I thought it was fantastic but I read it too fast to remember literally anything that happened. Just as good the second time!!

OH my GOD. This book CONSUMED me. I read this 450 page book in less than 24 hours. I haven’t felt this passion for a story in a very, very long time. This book made me escape to the bathroom at school at least 5 times today, just to devour a few more pages. It is charming. It is addicting. It is heartbreaking. It is FANTASTIC.
I’ve read my fair share of cheesy YA romance novels. I almost always have at least some qualm with the character development, the plot progression, the ending. This book is simply perfect. I’m not going to be ok for a very long time, and all I can say is that I hope someday I can find someone as wholly, good-ly devoted to me and who I can be just as devoted to as Sebastian and Tanner. Ahhhhhh this BOOK

This was so cute!

5 stars, was it perfect? No. Was it’s very sweet? Yes. Did it make me smile multiple times? Yes.

What I appreciated the most, and feared the most was them entirely changed who they were to resolve everything.
