YA Queer coming-of-age tale of high school love, angst, and religious trauma (w/ Mormon pastor's closeted son). Really enjoyed the wholesomeness of young love and the sometimes hilarious gay panic, though there were some choices at the end I didn't like - I guess high school kids are going to make some dumb mistakes to learn and grow from, but some of what happened I'd consider too hard to forgive.
It was cute, don’t get me wrong. But between the brain dumps and the will they won’t they? I was left underwhelmed. Not bad, not amazing.
[4.5] all. the. feels.
finished this in pretty much one sitting and loved every second.

Enjoyable, but maybe I’m getting too old for high school romances.
I really adored this story. I loved tanner as a character and really connected to what the characters were feeling.

This book means so much to me. I'm not sure I can do it justice with words. As a queer person with complicated family dynamics and relationships, this is such a genuine portrayal of the complex and heartbreaking nature of queer lives. But also, the beauty, the love, and the wonder of queer people and their lives. This book truly tackled such a painful scenario, and did it so much justice. We all wish that things weren't sometimes so heart wrenching, but pretending they aren't when they are, would be an injustice to us all. I sincerely thank the authors for writing this book. It tore my heart out, made me cry, but also brought me unspeakable joy and comfort.
