This dealt with complex issues so gracefully and respectfully!!
I loved that Tanner said (in response to why he wouldn't just be with a girl if he was bi) that loving wasn't a choice for him either.
I loved how respectfully and honestly Christina Lauren approached LDS.
There's some descriptions of love that were absolutely beautifully written.
I didn't like what happened with Tanner in response tothe breakup. It was a morally grey area, both characters feeling like they took advantage of the other + it felt like it fed into bi stereotypes But outside of that, a simple story told well

This was such a good book! I loved Tanners relationship with his parents, the undeniable support was great to see within a book. I was rooting for the two main characters the whole time and it brought so many emotions out of me. Highly recommend!

This book wasn't perfect but it was CUTE and I loved it. 3.5 ⭐
Really well done coming of age YA romance in a very specific setting. The references to Utah and the LDS were so spot on and specific, I wonder if people without that background would find it enjoyable. But as someone raised in that world I really engaged in all the nuances of a romance with the bishop’s son. I thought the book presented the issues a gay Mormon teen would face without shying away from critical points. But it also explored the topic without mocking Sebastian’s faith, so I thought it was a good balance.
Reading this on the heels of reading Educated by Tara Westover is... not great for any views I may have of the Mormon church/religion. Tanner is dreamy.
3.5 stars. It’s a really cute story. Heartbreaking and emotional but also profoundly adoring. I love the banter in Christina Lauren books and this one is no different though the topics touched on were a bit heavier.
